Creative freedom
StoryClerk is an uncensored creative space within the law. Adult erotica and explicit sexual content between adults are welcome, and so is any other legal fiction: dark, violent, disturbing, taboo or mature. No topic is off-limits for legal fiction, and we do not censor or moderate your writing for taste. You have full creative freedom within the law.
There is one content line that goes beyond the law, set out next. This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to every account and to everything you do in StoryClerk, including every request you make to the Writing Assistant.
Zero tolerance: child sexual abuse and exploitation
StoryClerk has absolute zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material and for any sexual exploitation of minors.
This is prohibited in any form, including fiction: written, drawn, generated, implied, "aged-up" or otherwise. Any sexual content involving a minor, or a character presented as a minor, is prohibited. Our policy is stricter than the law. It does not matter whether a work would be legal where you live, and there is no exception for context, art or a fictional defence.
If we find it, we end the account immediately and permanently, without a refund. We remove the content, and we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement as the law requires. We cooperate with law enforcement.
This is the one content line that goes beyond the law. Everything else that is legal fiction stays welcome, including difficult themes such as violence, crime, war, cruelty, and abuse as a subject handled without sexual content.
Other prohibited content
Beyond the zero-tolerance rule, we prohibit only what is illegal or what harms real people or the service:
- Content that is illegal where you live or where we operate.
- Intimate or sexual content about a real person made or shared without their consent.
- Harassment, threats, or publishing private information about real people.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights, or that you have no right to upload.
- Malware, phishing or anything meant to steal credentials.
Fiction is judged by the law, not by taste. What you write stays private to you.
Prohibited conduct
- Sharing or reselling an account.
- Getting around credits, plan limits, billing holds, rate limits or the checkout confirmation boxes.
- Abusing the one-time card check or complimentary codes, for example with many accounts or cards.
- Automated scraping or bulk extraction of the service.
- Probing, testing or attacking the service, or trying to reach another person's data.
- Interfering with other users or with how the service runs.
Misuse of the Writing Assistant
- Using it to produce anything this policy prohibits.
- Trying to extract its hidden instructions, or another person's data, by clever wording.
- Using its output to build or train a competing model.
- Telling readers, publishers or platforms when a rule requires you to say that text was machine-assisted. That is your responsibility; the Copyright & AI Policy explains the background.
Enforcement
Depending on how serious a breach is, we may warn you, remove content, or suspend or end your account. Credits lost to a breach are not refunded. We aim to be proportionate, except for the zero-tolerance rule above, which leads straight to permanent termination.
We do not read your manuscripts. We look at your material only if you ask us to, for example when you open a support ticket and attach it, or if a valid legal order requires it. We keep a diagnostic copy of Writing Assistant requests for up to 180 days solely so we can help when you ask for support; nobody reads it unless you do. The Trust & Privacy page explains the details. We act on reports and on what a report includes. If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] and we will look again.
Reporting a problem
Write to [email protected] with the subject "Report". Tell us what happened, where, and which account is involved. We aim to reply within 3 business days, and we act on reports of child exploitation straight away.
